He went behind my back and got a vasectomy!

I live in Wisconsin. My husband went and got a vasectomy without my knowledge or permission. I have heard from several people that this is not legal. Is this true? Does ANYONE know?? Please let me know!

Why would it not be legal? I cannot imagine that any state in the union has made it unlawful for a husband to obtain a vasectomy without his wife's permission. That's about as likely to happen as the state saying that a woman cannot have an abortion without the written consent of the father of the child.

Is it safe to assume you want kids? If he got a vasectomy and didn't not take your wishes into consideration, then you have a problem in your marriage.

I have no idea why this would be against the law. He is free to do what he wanta to his body, just like you are free to do whatever with yours.

If you want kids and he got the vasectomy anyways, then maybe its time to see a divorce attorney.
