I have an outstanding warrant for violating a protective order, which I just found out about when a prospective employer did a background check. What is my best course of action?

Seems to me there are three possibilities, although the first two will probably yield more favorable outcomes than the third:
A) Contact the authorities and arrange to turn yourself in.
B) Contact a criminal defense attorney.
C) Wait for the police to pick you up during a routine contact.

Absent other facts relating to the status of the protective order, I think option B in the prior response is the objectively "best course of action."

Do you recall violating, as in failing to obey the protective order?

If you can recall the "alleged" violation, perhaps that'll assist you in recalling things that might assist the attorney you select to represent you in the dilemma you'll soon be facing?
