Has anyone had issues with their landlord over an emotional support animal?

I've been reading a lot about emotional support animals lately, and one thing that keeps coming up is how complicated things can get with landlords.

Some people say their landlord accepted their ESA letter without any problems, while others mention delays, extra questions, or even outright rejection.

It made me wonder how consistent the experience really is.

If you've gone through this, how did your landlord respond? Did you have to explain the process, or was everything straightforward?

Also curious if the source of the ESA letter made a difference. I've seen people mention different platforms while researching, and it seems like not all documentation is treated the same.

Would be helpful to hear real experiences before going through the process myself.

The notion of an "emotional support animal" is based on squishy science, and it is something that is rife for abuse by tenants and by "doctors" who give out ESA certificates virtually for the asking.

Beyond that, it seems you just want to chat about the subject, which isn't the purpose of these boards. If you have a legal question based on a situation you're dealing with, please describe the situation and ask your question. Otherwise, a place like Reddit might be better for you.
