Drug Crimes, Substance Abuse Gun possession if convicted felon

I have a friend whom is a convicted felon. It was a prescription drug charge in which he plead guilty to. It has been approximately 7 years since charged and has completed all terms of probation. He never got jail time aside from times served. He now has a girlfriend whom is an avid gun collector and they have plans to move in together is she allowed to keep her weapons in the home in which they reside if they are secure and locked to which he has no access to?
