We currently have custody of a child that is in guardianship with us. The mother could not take care of him at the time. We have had him for 2 year. 1 year with it being guardianship. He came to us at 18 months and will be 4 this year. The mother was at one time seeing him for about 6 hours a day every week. She recently has not seen him since June 27. She don't call to talk to him. We had a social worker who was for us getting him for adoption but for some reason that worker was taken off the case. Now we have a new one and the mother has requested that she wants Friday-Sunday with him. She could barely see him the 6 hours she don't call and when he comes back he is dirty and hungry. Does anyone know if we can fight for adoption for him? The social worker don't seem to care. Would hiring a lawyer pay? If anyone has anything please help. Thanks.
