I have a friend who is in the process of applying for his green card (He just passed the 2nd or 3rd step). Anyways, he was convicted of a Class A misdemeanor for reckless driving (speeding) in Virginia. The maximum penalty was a year in jail with a $3000 fine and suspension of license, he accepted an offer of 20 days in jail, etc.
He is concerned that this will affect his green card application. Will it? It is obviously better to have a clean record, but this is the only offense on his record driving or criminal.
Thank you in advance for any advice or suggestions.
