Dear
I would like to know what rights do grandparents have and does the grandparents of the mother have more rights than the father parents.. Also does the mother parents have the right to custody if the father is alive and the mother.. Do they have rights to keep his other grandparents from visiting or spending time, because the mother and father is feuding?

Grandparents have no inherent rights in any US state. In some states, either set of grandparents may sue for visitation or custody but the circumstances in which this is possible are few and far between.

Grandparents have no inherent custody or visitation rights. They receive visitation through the acquiescence of one or both parents. If your son or daughter were to die then access to the children would be controlled solely by the surviving parent. If both parents are determined to be "unfit" for any reason the grandparents can certainly petition for custody and will be high on the list to receive such custody. But absent the unfitness of the parents the grand parents stand little chance of success.

The court may award grandparents visitation in some States but this is again extremely uncommon. It happens more when Mom or Dad is deceased and there has been an ongoing relationship between the grandparents and grandchildren. It's far less likely to happen if both parents are still alive and against the idea.

(Though it's still happened even in these post-Troxel days)

I agree with Proserpina and JHarris, but am curious about how old the child is, how old the parents are, and whether or not paternity has been established if the parents are unmarried.

Just a feeling....
