My roommates rented a storage in Calipatria, can at Golden Eagle storage place. My roommates had a car valued at approximately at $10,000.00 They paid every month and recently they received a notice that there belongings would be auctioned off if they did not pay by FEB. 17, 2017. So they made an attempt to pay the day before but she made an excuse to not receive it. Again, they went on the exact date of Feb. 17, 2017? Can they do that auction their items even though they went to pay and she ssid no.

From what you've posted it seems that the storage facility DID it.
Read the storage lease agreement to understand why it was done.

Sounds as if the payment was late.
Generally repetitive late payments don't have to be accepted.

Again, read the lease documents to better understand.

Then it's your roommates (or one of them) that has to come here and discuss his issue and show us a copy of the contract before any helpful comments can be made.

Second hand information through a middleman doesn't work.

There was a contract but it has expired and were never given another lease or contract.

You still have to read the original contract to see if any terms and conditions extended to the month to month rental after the expiration.
