getting billed

my old roomate never payed the power bill.when power was turned off i called to see if there was something i could do to get power on,thats when they told me there is a 2100.00 past bill that has to be paid. since the account was in her name,i was note going to pay her bill.since then i baught me a house and now the powwer comp. tunred off my power cause she never paid her bill.am i screwed or what.

What does you buying a house have to do with her paying the electical bill? Your name was not on the electrical bill on the place you shared with her so why would the power company deny you service on your new home? Obviously you are not being that forthcoming with your story...
