What is Twosday?
Twosday is a one-time special event that will only happen once in a lifetime!
Ready or not, it's coming your way on 22 February 2022 – a date that's written as 02/22/22 or 22/02/22 (for continents other than North America).
Its also a Tuesday. That's just too good of a pun to pass up!
Children, teachers, and parents all around the world are going to celebrate this upcoming event. Whether you call it Twosday, Two's Day, or 2s Day, there's bound to be a ton of fun you can have on this special day.
The one-time holiday is a perfect time to explore the number two in maths class, try out some challenges in a pair, or anything else you can think of. The sky is truly (or two-ly) the limit.
Why is Twosday so special?
When we said that Twosday is a "once in a lifetime" event, we weren't lying. There won't ever be another opportunity to have such an aesthetically-appealing date again.
11/1/11 and 11/11/11? Done and dusted.
33/3/33? No way, there can't be 33 days in a month!
That leaves us with 22/2/22 – and it's time to make it one to remember.
How can I celebrate Twosday?
If you're stuck for ideas on how to celebrate Twosday, then you're in luck. Here are some quick activities you can try out with children in class or at home:
Learn and practise the two times table. This could involve memorisation, songs, challenges, practice worksheets, and more. Twosday is definitely the best time to dedicate an hour (or two) to this. Check out our collection of two times table resources.
