I have been convicted of trespassing 1st degree. I went and talk to a free legal service from my work.
he told me to contact the prosecutor and ask for a lesser sentence if i was to plead no contest to the charges. Only if i was not happy with the offer they gave me should i contact a lawyer.
now is this the right thing to do or should i get a lawyer from the get go? if i was not happy with the 1st deal and got a lawyer will they perhaps make another deal when i do get a lawyer later?
its a matter of money. the lawyer fees are pushing what i can afford.
