Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft Friend Arrested, Trying To Help

My friend was recently arrested for shoplifting at a local mall. She had a small amount of marijuana on her when she was searched, so she is facing charges of larceny and possession. This is her first offense, does she need a lawyer? Can she ask for community service?

Yes she needs a lawyer as she is facing criminal charges and a criminal record. What she might get in a plea deal can best be answered by a local Attorney

She's innocent until proven guilty.
Her best bet is to hire an attorney (or ask the court to appoint one if she's unable to pay), and keep her mouth shut!!!
