I was granted a first offender pardon does this mean i can legally carry a weapon in la. and can this be expunged from my record? Thanks Louisiana

Yes, if you have a pardon by your governor.
If it was a pardon you received, your record is wiped clean.
But, it must be a pardon, not some other type of deferral or disposition.
I suggest you seek clarification through your attorney and/or the governor's office to make sure, before you attempt to purchase a firearm.

20 plus years ago I was charged with a felony and did time and probation. I recieved a paper saying I have a first offenders pardon. Does this mean my record is not for the public? Years later I was working for someone and he had listed me as his manager and was going through the state police for video poker games and they ran a check on me and my record came up and he told my boss I was not allowed to be in management cuz of my record. I dont understand. If I had a first offenders pardon, why was this used against me. I have been scared to try and get a job cuz of my record. I dont want to lie, how can I find out if my record from over 20 years ago is listed to the public? If I list that for a job , it is always used against me even though its 20 plus years ago. I was young and in love and didnt turn my boyfriend in for armed robbery and was convicted of accassory After the fact and this has tied me down ever since. Can you explain about the first offenders pardon and if my charges are public? I thought it was gone cuz of the pardon but the state police pulled it up years ago. Im in Louisiana
