Fired with two week notice

My employer presented me with a termination letter this morning. The catch is, I was given a two week notice. Her reasons stated procedures not being followed in a day care. I didn't know how to react. Should I have walked out and risked my chances of unemployment? Please help, I've never heard of a two week firing notice!!

Well if they are giving you 2 weeks notice, which is unusual, they are giving you time to look for another job.

I am not sure if you walking out will affect your unemployment but you might as well start looking for another job.
