My 19 yr old son and another employee were fired for stealing from their workplace.
LP questioned my son, he admitted to stealing the money. Not sure of the exact amount around $1500 dollars. Cops were called and he was issued trespassing warrant for that store but was not arrested. LP told my son to get the money together to payback. My son is going to agree to restitution Detective called wants my son to come in tuesday for statement. Should he go, or should we hire a lawyer before going to police station?

I would definitely recommend hiring an attorney in this situation, and make it clear to your son that he is to have no further communication regarding this matter with anyone, other than "his attorney". If any further communication is initiated, he should reply by stating he is being represented by counsel, and if asked, he should provide the name and telephone number of his attorney, and nothing else.
