Before the 30 days are up, go to the criminal court house's (business) office first thing in the morning. The business office is where you are sent after you've seen the judge to pay your fine, make arrangements for payment of the fine, get the paperwork of your next court appointment, etc. Ask one of the clerks that you want to see the judge as a "Walk-In" and you will be put on the calendar for that day. Then go the court room and wait for your name to be called, but be prepared for a long wait as walk-ins are seen after all the calendared matters have been dealt with.
Once in front of the judge, explain your situation clearly and earnestly and then ask that if the Court could "stay" the fines related to your case "pending the successful completion of probation." Such a relief is available and granted if you can show extreme hardship and prove to the court that you are positively indigent; which is a nice euphemism for penniless.
