In 2015 on July 6th I had a stroke. My left arm, hand, and leg were paralyzed for awhile due to this. I have limited use in my left arm, hand, and leg now. I have to use a cane to walk now. I also have speech issues as well from this stroke. On August 26th of 2015 I also had another stroke. That causes my energy levels to fluctuate on a daily basis even with medication.
I haven't filed for disability for this yet. I hoped to make a fully recovery, but that goal isn't even close yet. Ever since my first stroke I've had to live with my parents again, and I've spent what money I've had saved up since this happened.
Would a lawyer be able to file for me initially for disability? Would one take monthly payments for this if I was able to get it without waiting months? With me seeing a nurse practitioner rather than a doctor complicate things with this? I have an issue with the doctor since he discharged me twice from the hospital and I ended up going to another hospital the next day in a rescue squad. I did everything in my power to get into the ER with plenty of time to be injected with tPA, and was discharged with an appointment to see the doctor/neurologist in a month. If I was given that injection it's possible I would of just ended up with minor damage from this. That's the main reason why I see the nurse for my stroke.
