On July 2 2008 my fiance was arrested a commitment on failure to pay a fine. The fine is from 2005 and he was unable to pay it since he was unemployed and homeless. He did write several letters with no response from the courts
he is now in a treatment program for his alcohal abuse and has full time employment. He is being told that he "pays or stays" he has not seen a judge and was finally told that he had to write the judge to request a payment plan, which he has done, both of us were told that the judge probably will not agree to a payment plan we were also told that since they also filed a judgement against him after he stays for the 45 days he will still be responsible to pay back the full amount owed plus interest is this legal? What is a committment? there is also a certification on this What is that?
