July 5th i was involved in a car accident hitting a iron flatbed trailor at 55mph. The front end of my car collapsed. The seat belt kept me from exiting the vehicle. The sensors for my airbags were pushed in as well. However the air bags did not deploy.They simply cracked the dashboard and stopped. There are supposed to be 4 bag in that 2001 Mitsubishi Galant. Come to find out i am not the first to experience this problem. But there are no recalls on the car for that, only the bilingual label for the air bag. There is even a website for disgruntled mitsubishi owners that had this problem as well as others. What can be done? The insurance company totaled the car b4 they looked at it and only paid the car off. Not even covering the medical bills. An ambulance didn't even come to the accident site...
