Fathers rights

can the father of a child sign over his rights?
This man was just informed of a child after 4 years, he is not sure it is even his so he is going to have a pertunity test done. If it is postive is there anything he can do.

Unless the mother is remarried and her husband is willing to adopt, not much he can do to get out of this.

They do not terminate rights unless a subsequent adoption is going to take place.
