Dear Sir or M adam, My question concerns custody issues. The situation is as follows: My cousin has a daughter with his ex wife. They were married at the time the child was born. However they were not living together. Therefore his name was subsequently left off of the birth certificate. His ex wife has since died and the child is in the custody of her maternal grandmother. Who was given custody in Tennessee without my cousin's consent. My question is, will my cousin have to get a paternity test done before he can go after custody? The maternal grandmother says that a custody fight would have to take place in Tennessee, since that is where she was awarded custody. She is now living in Indiana.
