My annual review was postponed several times and occurred about five weeks after my anniversary and during that period an unsigned and anonymous typewritten letter was received by my employer claiming I had violated privacy practices. I have not seen the letter but I can say without any uncertainty that I did not do what I was accused of. I was formally written up and denied my annual raise. My immediate supervisor is in support of my making a formal written appeal based on the questionable validity of this document since it is completely anonymous and unsigned. There is a possibility that my ex-husband could be behind this but I don't see any way that I could confirm that.
My question is, if I am denied my raise and or having my write up expunged after a reasonable written appeal, is there any other legal defense I might have?
Thank you,
MsCandor
