Faith Based programs, medical diagnosis, determination of ABUSE

The United States Constitution guarantees all citizens freedom OF RELIGION. In keeping with that idea, President Bush put into effect community, non-profit, faith-based educational programs into operation. These faith-based inititives makes it possible for allowing religious organizations to financially contribute, direct, create, and control educational programs designed to bring a back sliding church member, back into the fold. The only fire wall between the church and the subject, is the subjects family (parents, children, siblings, spouse, etc). These programs are attractive as they often relieve the taxpayer from having to administer and fund traditional mainstream behavior modification programs, that are required to be constitutionally cohesive, voter approved, ethical, government sanctioned, and subject to public disclosure. A faith based program would not be subject to any of the afore mentioned ethical boundaries or legal limitations.

Suppose a subject has financial assets that family members wanted to get their hands on. What would prevent these family members from taking advantage of these faith based programs to assist them in gaining access to the subjects assets?

Suppose the subject no longer agrees with their Church's official doctrine, and has changed their beliefs to another organized religion, or simply has decided to abandon organized religion entirely, to follow the beliefs revealed to them during their own, personal, spiritual awakening?

Suppose as a result of their spiritual awakening, their higher power instructed them to be tolerant of every human beings religious beliefs, respecting the rights of others to believe in God in what ever way people decide to worship God. The subject would not be able to outright and absolutely disavow their old religion, would they?

Suppose the subject was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that had some difficult to comprehend symptoms, like Narcolepsy, for example. Or maybe a difficult to diagnose disorder like Fibromyalgia. Or maybe something that can effect behavior such as ADD/ADHD. Or maybe an autoimmune disease like Type 1 diabetes. What if the faith based religion has a doctrine that says diseases and disorders are the physical manifestation of past sins? What if the religion simply disapproves of the drugs used to treat the disease of disorder that the subject has been legitimately and medically diagnosed with, such as amphetamine for Narcolepsy and ADD/ADHD, or opiate based pain killers for Fibromyalgia, or Insulin for Type 1 diabetes. Suppose in the view of the Church, you were required to just "pick up your cross and carry it"? In the case of Type 1 diabetes that would mean carrying your cross to an early grave. In the cases of the other autoimmune diseases, that would mean being required to TRY to live your life without any QUALITY OF LIFE, or perhaps to make the choice to go ahead and TAKE YOUR LIFE. At the very least, wouldn't the Church actually be promoting the acceptance of needless suffering for thier members? I can't speak for anyone else, but when I have a headache, I do not believe God has a problem with me taking an aspirin...Do you?

Suppose that instead of being allowed to obtain knowledgeable, modern, medical treatment for the disease of disorder they were diagnosed with, the subject was forced to undergo a faith based drug rehabilitation program that would never successfully solve or even help with the underlying health issue?

Suppose that the subjects' beliefs about God, and the nature of God's personality and essence, as a loving and generous God, only enabled those who really do need to be governed by the Old Testament Vengeful Cop in the sky God, to perpetuate, and escalate the subjects "trials" to levels that exceeded the definition of abuse.

Suppose the subject is the target of discrimination, based on today's cultural beliefs in regards to drug use, and their disapproving family members, abusive ex-husbands, and liability concerned and embarrassed Church's, doctors, health care management agencies, and government agencies (including the Courts), can not think of a way to back peddle their way out of the severe violations of basic human rights that have been allowed to occur in such a scenerio?

Does the subject have any kind of equal protection under the law, to be free from covert Judicial killing or any other actions meant to rid themselves of the problem that this one insignificant human being has imposed upon the system?

Correction...it is two human beings. My son was unfortunate enough to inheret the autoimmune disease also, and he is getting the same treatment that I have received.
