Hello.

I had my custody hearing on the 11th of September. The magistrate said that she would make her decision as soon as she was able and notify me through my counsel. I have not heard anything as of yet. My ex husband is a drug addict and extremely unstable and I am concerned for the saftey of my son. Our original divorce decree is very vague as I did not have an attorney. The original shared parenting plan has our son going back and forth between both parents every two weeks as he was not in school. He has since started school and that arrangement is not in the best interest of our son. He has lived with me since May and has only seen his dad twice for less than 24 hours each time.

My ex husband has moved back and forth between two states several times and is moving back to where we are soon. According to my attorney, there is nothing else to do but wait for the magistrates decision, or try calling the bailiff to inquire. Is there any way to expedite this?

I suspect that your attorney is the best source of advice. He/she knows your case and the judges better than anyone here.
