Exempt question

Hi all,
We have a position of a Sales Coordinator. This person is helps the sales managers keep organized, makes sales packets, answers phones, makes appointments, give the potential clients tours of the hotel banquet facilities etc. I guess she would be considered an admin assistant. Currently this position is non-exempt, but thinking it should be exempt. What are your thoughts? Thanks for your help.
Sounds non-exempt to me. Few admin assistant type jobs are going to qualify as exempt.
Me too, I think non-exempt. And if there's any doubt I air on the side of non-exempt. There's no penalty for paying a position that could be exempt as a non-exempt. There's big penalties for the opposite.
