Executor of Estate

My grandmother changed her Will naming me her Executor of her estate. She had paperwork drawn up to have her daughter's name taken off the deeds for the two houses my grandmother owned. My grandmother became ill, and her daughter wanted nothing to do with her. I quit my job and moved in with my grandmother to assist her in last days. My grandmother passed away and her daughter kicked me out of the house, then sold everything in estate sales. Is she entitled to sell the houses like she did?
