Ex-spouse needs help with QDRO

My divorce settlement included pension benefits from my husband who works as a flight attendant for TWA. I was given the choice of early out of 35% of value of plan as of 1990 or 50% at his retirement. I chose the latter. As part of settlement I had to split the cost of a pension search due to complexities of airline pay. How can I proceed at this point to find out if he has retired (he will be 57 this year) and what the outcome of the search was without going through the lawyers? It is stated in the final decree that he was supposed to be fortcoming with information as recieved.
