My ex-girlfriend is pregnant and I'm scared she might try and leave the state before the our baby is born just to spite me. I was wondering if there is any way to legally stop her from leaving so I'm able to have a relationship with my child or fight for custody if shes determined to leave. This will be my first child and I really want to be a part of his/her life. I am a good man and although I haven't treated her as fairly as I think I should have, I dont believe she should take her anger out in this way. Please respond if you know anything that can help me. Thank you.

Unfortunately you have no rights at all until the baby is born and paternity is established. After the baby is born you are free to file to establish paternity and visitation. It is possible mom may be forced to help out with transportation to visits but you'll have to ask for it.

Many states have a presumptive fathers registry. If she does move out of state start googling if that state has a registry and see about establishing paternity.
