I rented a single family home for just over 4 years.
I do not believe that my landlord rents more than 4 single family properties and is therefore excluded from the VA laws that require interest payments on escrow (security deposit) for rentals greater than 12 months.
Given that I can't find any applicable VA code nor statement in my lease regarding the interest on the escrow account. Is there any general rule that governs what happens to the interest earned on a security deposit?
