Employment after a misdemeanor

Hello,

I was recently arrested for shoplifting and am awaiting my court date which is set for August 16, 2005. I was wondering, will employers be able to see that I have been arrested recently, if I have not technically been convicted yet, or been to court? Is my record clean until my court date, or will they find out if I were to apply for a job before my court date. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Whether a prospective employer discovers your arrest record depends on whether they do a criminal background check and if so, how detailed it is.
