monday I quit my job with a well thought out resignation letter. Just today they called me and said that my final check could not be direct deposit and I would have to come by the office on friday. They could not release my check until I signed some papers for "final check out". I do not have anything of theirs and turned in my keys earlier this week. The office manager would not send these papers regesterd mail so I could sign them, she said it was office policy. Funny, I have never had an employee handbook or signed a damn thing in the 2 years I worked there. From what I understand about California labor law, they can't do that. They must ,if I request, send my final paycheck via us mail within 72 hours. Am I correct? If so what are my options now?
