We caught an employee using the company credit card for personal expenses in Jan. This same employee also wrote a check and had her boyfriend cash it. The amount of these two were appx $4,000. This employee was with the company for 2 weeks and never returned. She was never confronted about these allegations. A police report was filed in Feb but it seems as if the police aren't going to do anything. The bank and CC company have already credited our accts and there is no financial loss to our company but if the police do not want to take the case is there anything else we can do. It would be horrible if she got away with it only to do it again at another employer.

I suppose you can address the matter with your city or county prosecutor's office but I suspect that their names are in the system and they may be prosecuted if they are located.

Meantime, you've been made whole and if the employee hasn't filed for unemployment, you might as well just move on.

Yes, it would be horrible, but that not really your problem.
