Employee Records

I am wondering how I can acquire a copy of my employee records from a previous employer. Can you help me with this?

Whether or not you are legally entitled to even see your file, let alone have a copy of it, depends on state law and you did not identify your state.

I apologize for not listing the state. The previous employer is in New York State, with corporate headquarters located in Illinois.

In New York, it is up to the employer whether or not to allow you access to your file.
