Emancipation

My step-daughter is 18, registered in a GED course. Her mother is lying about her living with her and the step-daughter just had a baby and is receiving state assistance, food stamps, etc... We are still paying child support because she is registered in a GED course and saying she is living with her mother. If she is receiving state assistance does that automatically emancipate her? State of Missouri, St. Charles County/St. Louis County

Child support ends when court says so. Not when child is 18.

Having a baby does not automatically emancipate a child. Your husband needs to likely prove the child is not attending school or any courses. If Dad can prove the child is not living with Mom he might be able to go that route too.
