Got a call from an elderly relative.(70s) He got a dui in the 90s went to court, found guilty, got a fine and told to complete a class. Think he lost license. He lost job and never completed. Is now on social security. Is there a statute of limitations? What should he do to.clear this

Is there a statute of limitations?

What is this person's EXACT age?

Is the person in good health?

I suppose the person lost his driving privileges if the fines remain unpaid.

Tell the person to contact the court and find out how much is still owed, because that must be cleared before driving privileges will be restored.

Once the fines and fees have been paid, DMV will likely have some hoops to jump, and some monies to regain driving privileges.

This is the DMV website, where you can obtain contact numbers to ask how or if the license can be reestablished.

https://www.dmv.pa.gov/

Be prepared to hear that even when fees have been paid in full, that time must be served in the penalty box before a license will be issued.

Good luck.
