I have recently moved to Georgia and accepted a job as a teacher in a public school. I have a question that is similar to the rest of those asked, but they all seemed to be private companies or employers. Does a public school district have the right to restrict length of hair and earrings for a male employee but not a female employee? Would this be a title VII violation of the Civil Rights Act? Only one person in passing has asked if I would have to cut my hair and take out my earrings, but she was not the principal or director of HR.
