   Jurisdiction:

   Michigan

   Ticket written for animal cruelty, after I turned the animal over not realizing it was hurt. Otherwise it would've went to the vet not the shelter. The case was dismissed. 2 months Later receive another ticket for the same offense (but reworded a little differently, for the most part the same), animals are no longer in my possession.
   Is this legal??

   Why was the first case dismissed?
   
   A dismissal doesn't necessarily mean not guilty nor does it prevent refiling under appropriate circumstances.
   
   You should be consulting an attorney who can read the case file and understand what went on.
