My mail carrier knows that I have dogs & usually leaves me a notice that I have a package to pick up at the post office. However, about a week ago I had a note in my mail box saying that my dog had jumped up on her car & scratched it & repairs would be about $900. I have always been able to get out the scratches from my dogs with rubbing compound when they have jumped up on my car. Should I just pay as feel like I may be getting scammed & I do not understand why she would suddenly decide to deliver a package when in the past she has just left notices. Should I turn it over to my homeowners insurance or would this cause my rates to go up. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Were your dogs loose on this day that the claim relates to?

Could your dogs get to the vehicle?

Have you seenb any evidence of the alleged damage (physically observed or photo's)?

Did anyone else witness the incident?

Have you had any other similar claims made against you/dogs?
