This is my first post so I hope I explain my problem correctly. My mother passed back in Feb. She was divorced from my father for about 25 years. The divorce decree stated that the property was to be sold and divided when my sister turned 18. That was to be done in 1994. My mom and sister lived in that home ever since and nothing was done to sell it. My mom got a will stating that when she passed that anything that was hers to be divided among the surviving children. My father is still alive and believes the property should be sold and go to him. Also, she filed bankruptcy 5 years ago and there is debt and property taxes that have not been paid.
Any ideas on how to handle this?
