Divorce and Medicaid Lookback Period

My ex-husband is currently in a nursing home and recently applied for Medicaid. We divorced in 2015 and in the property settlement agreement, we agreed that the jointly owned marital property be transferred solely to me. The transfer didn't take place until late 2016, which is within the 5 year lookback period. Does Medicaid look at the date of divorce or the date of the asset transfer when determining eligibility and penalties?

I suggest you call the medicaid office and ask how that works.
