I live in New Jersey and have been charged with disorderly conduct.
I was having a party at my house and one of my guests double parked, a police officer came to my home and told me to move the car. I went to go get the owner of the car to move it and closed the door, the officer was offended because he thought that I slammed the door in his face. He yelled, took me by the neck and handcuffed me. I had to wait in a holding cell but I didn't take any photos or finger prints or whatever, but I was charged with disorderly conduct for "tumultuous behavior".
I have a court date in about 10 days. Do you think I will be found guilty? If I am not guilty, will it still be on my record? Should I get a lawyer and should I bring witnesses to the court date? What actions would you recommend for me to do?
