Direct Pay Deposit

I have opted not to have direct deposit for my checks. I have been advised that this is not an option for me - it is mandatory that I am the only person who does not want direct deposit, so therefore I am being forced to accept.
Is this legal?

In FL, direct deposit is mandatory for state employees. I don't know about county employees but I think you'd probably have a hard time fighting it, particularly since you don't have a state DOL.
