Hi,

I had two fixed bridges put in my mouth about five years ago. The dentist told me they would last a long time if not forever. Well, on one of the bridges, part of the porcelain chipped off revealing the silver inner part of the bridge. I paid fifteen hundred dollars each for these bridges and that was with insurance. I know that porcelain crowns, etc. are supposed to be extremely strong unless there was a flaw in the firing which could cause it to chip or break. Is he responsible for any repairs?

Thank you!

I cannot imagine a dentist saying that they should last a lifetime... Anyhow, wear and tear is expected to happen so, as far as who is responsible for the repairs, that will be you.
