my ex girlfriend and i recently split up and shes about 5months pregnant and wants me to have nothing to so with our child is there anyway i could have a custody hearing before the child is born or what is the best way to go about making sure i'll be apart of my childs life when he is born??

Legally you don't have a child until paternity is established (recommended) or you sign papers at the hospital saying you're the dad.

What you could do is get the paperwork ready and when baby is born, file for paternity/support/parenting time. Other than that, there is not much you can do. Mom is calling the shots now, and can after birth until you are granted rights. See if your local courthouse has a "packet" for new dads.

You cannot do anything until the child is born and paternity is established. Start googling you states unmarried fathers laws. Your state might have a presumptive fathers registry, if it does then sign up on it. Also google establishing paternity for your state. You'll need to serve her with papers to get a DNA test done, then eventually set up some sort of child support and visitation. You do have some rights once paternity is done, don't let mom tell you otherwise.
