Creditors threatening to garnish wages for private student loans

I have 3 private loans from Sallie Mae that I have not been able to make a payment within the last 3 months. The collection agency is threatening to garnish my wages if I do not pay them. I live in PA and I understand that in PA, they can garnish federal student loans, child support, room/board, and rent issues. However, are they allowed to garnish PRIVATE student loans in PA?

I don't understand. If a creditor is threatening to sue you for default, is that not their right?
