Credit dispute from improperly filled out check

Recently I sent a payment to a creditor to payoff a credit line. I mistakenly filled out the payee with the wrong name. The problem is that by the time they returned the check 30 days had gone by causing a 30 day lateness to appear on my credit history. I have already filled out another check and paid off this loan, but how do I remove the 30 day lateness from my credit history.
