I was wondering what I can do about a court summons I got last night for a open container of alcohol (Section 10-125 Sub 2B).
I was surprised to get a summons especially since this was at a party I was invited to. A couple of friends and I were in a enclosed room on the roof of a apartment complex with a keg. Suddenly a police officer comes in and tells us to come out of the room and searches us.
Now, I am underage but other people who were in the room on the roof with me were not, but they still got a summons.
Is the roof of a apartment complex considered a public area and is this summons justifiable?
I appreciate all responses as I want to go to court and possibly plead not guilty.
OR is my best option just paying the 25 dollar summons.

This took place in Queens, New York.

In addition, I just discovered that the address where the event took place is incorrect.
How do I address this in court?
