My daughter and her ex are going to court to modify child custody for my 11 year old granddaughter. Father of child had her during school year and my daughter would have her on weekends and holidays. My daughter is going for full custody. The father got an emergency order saying my daughter could only have her on weekends during summer. Here is the trouble, the father will only let my daughter pick her up for visits. He would not allow me to come w/o my daughter. No reason for it, he is just a jerk. Can he legally only let mother pick her up. Or can a person the mother authorizes pick up the child? The court dates are just a few weeks away, thank goodness.
