Okay... I was convicted ugh.. and sentenced and it has been 5 years since I have not had any legal trouble since I want to know what if anything I can do that would remove this from my public record. It was a Class A Mis. for theft. I know expungement is not an option, but I just want to know if there is any legal recourse to remove it from the public record search for background checks????

Your only options to seek a gubernatorial pardon.
Don't get your hopes up, they're rare for felons.
They're nonexistent for garden variety miscreants.
