Hi! I own a just starting up home-based computer repair business. I am planning to contract work out to employees and pay them by the job (their compensation is based on a sliding scale depending on the job but they generally make close to 50% and this equates to between $10 and $20. I was told by a friend who is a business owner there may be some legality issues with this kind of payment scheme when it comes time to write up an employment contract. What issues should I be aware of? Employees will be offered jobs as they come in and they choose what they do or don't accept. I cannot guarantee a certain amount of hours a week which is why I don't want to pay hourly. But should i guarantee a minimum weekly pay? Is there anything else I should be aware of? How should I go about writing the final contract? thank you for your help!
